INFORMATION:
So Our winter SCA Convention for the Kingdom of AnTir (refered to as 12th night Coronation) is happening at the Double Tree Hotel on Multnomah Blvd in Portland in January 2013.
Several of the local canton members are part of the decorating committee and would love to use this project as a way to build some reusable SCA decor, to build and make some impressive stuff, have some fun challenging ourselves, bring the canton together working on a large event, and showcase our crafts people, our organizational skills, and our solidarity. In other words, we would love to have everyone inthe canton get involved in some way.
Stuff we are beginning to work on:
- Pewter casting 1000 site tokens in the form of Medieval Pilgrimage badges
- Pillows to warm up some of the spaces
- Banners that can be used as signage
- Window clings in medieval window designs to showcase the many windows of the site
- A freestanding backdrop behind the thrones
- Painted bestiary and tapestry scenes for the many picture framed venues
- Backlighting effects for the windows with clings at night
- A “garden” area in the main ballroom for laptop and cell phone texting
- A “Black Lion masked Ball” with masked black heraldic lions all about the ballroom (lanterns, wall hangings, etc)
- Other stuff as it comes up
