March Seneschal’s Report for the Canton of KaldorNess
Our regular monthly business meeting was held at Hugh and Murna’s house on 2/24 with 12 members including four new visitors in attendance. Our next meeting will be on 3/23 at 7pm, at Jacinda’s home, weather permitting. Please watch the email lists.
We currently have $1256.52 being held for us by the Barony of 3M. This includes the tithe donation made last month of $293.02 that was previously voted upon and a change of $70 as a reimbursement to Carith for the largesse parties at the Odd Fellow’s Hall rental.
Discussions were made regarding sending letters to the local schools in our area that we are available for classroom style mini-demos on request.
Considering having a semi-regular thrown weapons practice – Jacinda is finding out how to get Marshaled for thrown weapons.
We did attend the customary meeting on 2/26, learned a lot and spoke our minds respectfully.
In service,
Jacinda of KaldorNess, Seneschal

February Seneschal’s Report for the Canton of KaldorNess
Our regular monthly business meeting was held at Appoline’s house on 1/27 with 5 members and two new visitors in attendance. Our next meeting will be on 2/24 at 7pm, at the same Hugh & Murna’s home.
We currently have $1326.52 being held for us by the Barony of 3M. The Canton members did converge for a vote on 2/7 and 2/8 and unanimously agreed to volunteer a percentage payment to The Barony of Three Mountains for what we feel is our share of the lawsuit settlement as put in place by the Kingdom. The amount that we would donate would be $293.02
Kaldorness had a wonderful event last weekend! We are pleased that we had a great turn-out and we certainly feel we want to do it again. We freely admit there were some issues with registration and we feel that it’s a “lesson learned” and that all future Accademia events will be handled more smoothly.
In service,
Jacinda of KaldorNess, Seneschal

Greetings Your Excellencies, Council Members and Guests:
Please accept this report in my absence – I am not seasoned enough to be comfortable driving in this unpredictable weather and for the safety of myself and others, I will remain at my residence until the rains settle in.
There was no business meeting in the month of December due to the holidays. We did meet in November and incorporated our Quarterly Social gathering into it as previously reported at the last council meeting.
There have been no changes to our funds being held by 3M since the last report.
Accademia:
The focus of our group and many other recent gatherings have been in preparation for the Accademia event on February 18-19, 2012. All classes & schedules and other good stuff is posted on our website: http://www.kaldorness.org and the event is by pre-registration only so if you wish to attend, please make sure your completed form and payment are mailed soon! The registration must be postmarked by February 4, 2012.
We are still in need of folks to help out at the event –
· helping teachers bring in and take out their fabulous class gear,
· helping set up and staff the snack table,
· helping check folks in at the gate table (no money here, just registration packets and blue cards),
· helping folks to classes,
· and of course cleaning up afterward.
Please consider volunteering an hour or even 15 minutes here and there to make this classroom-focused event happen.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
Sincerely,
Jacinda of Kaldorness
Seneschal

I apologize for not being able to attend tonight’s meeting as we are busy finalizing details before the birth of our newest cantonee. Please accept the report in my absence.
Our regular monthly business meeting and quarterly social was held at Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant in Scappoose on 11/18 with 19 (!!!) members attending. We currently have $1916.54 being held for us by the Barony of 3M.
The Canton gathered on 12/2 at Hugh & Murna’s for the preparation of the gingerbread village given at the Yule Feast. A glorious time was had at the event as well. Pictures can be seen at www.cantonofkaldor.shutterfly.com
Embellisher’s Grand Accademia event is coming together with both the teachers and the list of attendees. We have secured 80 hours of classes. Registration for the event is scheduled to be up and running by January 1, 2012.

Greetings unto All on this fine summer evening.
At the last Kaldor Ness meeting we discussed the making of small cloth bags for largesse. A variety of period-appropriate-ish looking materials have been donated and are being cut out with the intention of having bags available for Sport of Kings in August.

JAN A&S Report info A&S Minister: Sophia (term renewed 1/11-1/13).
Duck tape class on hold-Maybe march or April
Embellishers Guild would be interested in putting together a grand session (think several tracks of classes) and approached Muireann to see if the canton was interested and able to secure classrooms. Seemed to be interest. Muireann will approach the St. Helens High School to see what they might have available and Jacinda will contact the Scappoose School District. We will follow up with options for next meeting.
FEB A&S Report info A&S: Nothing to report – discussed changes in reporting to 3M, is working on Crier Copy for Champions.
Discussed to all deputies that even when there are “no changes”, it still needs to be reported monthly.
Embellishers class is still being planned, no responses to requests made to schools so far, need to continue to bug them for a yes or a no.
Largesse: Need recommendation letters and largesse for Champions event.
Pirate festival is coming to St. Helens. Would like to find out more information about it.
MAR A&S Report info

Embellishers Class Academy: Aedan has volunteered to be Site Liaison to Autocrat Muireann. Jacinda is in contact with Scappoose School District office regarding the rental of classrooms – has follow-up scheduled for after 4/1/11. We need 4-6 classrooms with a common area (cafeteria?). Expect to be at site by 7am, out by 8pm. Would like to have access to Kitchen/Cafeteria to prepare food. Need to make sure that Restrooms are unlocked and can be used. Would like to reserve for two days, cost allowing. Largesse: Largesse work day still being rolled around – will not be prepared in time for Grand Thing. Aiming for largesse delivery to Sport of Kings. Discussed writing up period/medieval book reviews, fiction or non-fiction. Send to 3M Chronicler to be published in the Plume. Directory information for the Barony to Lois by 4/1 if interested. Can send to Alex and she will forward in one message if you would like to be listed.
